How to Donate Your Old Eyeglasses

This is a guest post from Sara Roberts. Sara is a content contributor for Just Eyewear, an eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses retailer.
One man’s trash is more than another man’s treasure; it could be another man’s livelihood. While your prescription may not work for your eyes anymore, it may still be the perfect one for someone else’s eyes. Whether you are changing glasses because you’re just ready for new frames, or because the prescription has changed, help out your fellow man by donating your old glasses...

I’m getting a new pair of glasses this October, and I think maybe I should consider this donating cause. I hope I can find a local optometry shop which accepts old eyeglasses though. I just realized that just because one man doesn’t wear glasses, doesn’t mean he doesn’t need it. Sometimes he just can’t afford to have one. And as a person who regularly wears eyeglasses, I know how hard it is to live with blurry vision. Thanks! :)

I wish I could donate my glasses, but I’m so careless it could break when you put on the new frames. Regardless, I would agree about donating your frames to those in need. Glasses can range from $19 to $121. So if you want to pay only for new lenses, then second hand glasses from your mom or anyone from the family is a great idea.
